You might have seen this post about ditching work and going to Berkeley. I was wrong on many counts: my boss's parents own a Mediterranean chain of restaurants, of which there isn't even one in Berkeley; the nearest one to there is in Danville. We also didn't go on Monday. We went today, and we called it an "off-site meeting." (We'd been kicked out of our lab area for another group's presentation anyway.) We started off in a coffee shop where I got apple juice and we just talked for a bit about Berkeley and work. Sooner or later it was noonish so we went to a Mexican place called Picante for burritos. After lunch, we parked the car outside campus and walked through and roamed Telegraph a bit. We walked into Rasputin and I came out with Bryter Layter and A Picture of Nectar, both of which were had for <$20 total. We also got frozen yogurt. It was much fun! During the ride back we listened to my CDs. By the time we got back it was 5:30pm already so I decided to head out. Stuff that's happening in the near future: there's talk of going to see Les Misérables in San Fran (they're here until July 24, my birthday, but I don't think I care to wait that long), and on the other side of the spectrum, going bowling. I know a bunch of people who recently went, but you can never have too much of a good thing... Tags: berkeley, music, sun
